Liberty Biberty, Limu Emu Indicted on Multiple Counts of Fraud, Sextortion
BOSTON — The insurance advertisement world is reeling from the alleged misconduct of two of its most infamous stars. This week, a federal grand jury indicted Nicholas L. Biberty III—known professionally as “Liberty Biberty”—and colleague Limu Emu on four counts each of fraud, as well as several counts of felony sextortion against as many as four unnamed victims.
The two are accused of soliciting lewd images and sexual favors from their employees—one of whom, an emu, was reportedly still a chick—in exchange for favorable casting in their (super obnoxious) car insurance ads.
The case unfolded dramatically, with many individuals of both high and low status accusing the embattled Biberty of misconduct, including, most recently, the GEICO gecko, who has yet to officially press charges. This is the first time that charges have stuck in a case against the sentient-tennis-ball-muppet-thing. Regarding the case, Massachusetts District Attorney Heal Olfey said, “I’ve read the case files and, rather frankly, they’re disgusting. I am going to make sure Mr. Biberty is never allowed within an inch of a commercial camera or prop car, or anywhere near the minds of our children, ever again.”
The indictment of the comparatively low-profile Limu Emu has come as a shock to his two (maybe three?) fans across the globe. Despite his part as an aggressor in advertisements for the Liberty Mutual company–which has yet to respond to requests for comment—Limu Emu has retained a significantly lower profile than his alleged co-conspirator.
Doug, another frequent cast member in Liberty Mutual ads, is expected to testify as a witness for the prosecution in the upcoming trial.
Television watchers say hopefully this will get them off their screens.
