Insider Report: MTV Launches “Shrink Rap,” A New Reality Show Following Kanye West’s Therapist

Good news! This week, MTV launches a reality series following Kanye West’s therapist, giving fans a sigh of relief after despair following the Kimye divorce announcement. The show, aptly named “Shrink Rap” follows West’s therapist Dr. Shakur, a man adamant that he is not in fact Tupac in hiding.

As a longtime friend of Kanye West, or Kanye as he lets me call him, I was able to interview Dr. Shakur under one condition: Kanye would accompany me. The notes from my encounter follow.

“Kanye,” I said, “I’d love for you to come with me. You’re my best friend!”

He didn’t respond.

“It’s okay Kanye, you don’t have to say it back.”

In any case, we soon arrived at the set of the show. It was entirely immersive, located in an office on the third floor of a skyscraper.

“Kanye,” I asked, “where’s the film equipment?”

“That’s the point bro, LIFE is a movie.”

“Kanye, you’ve blown my mind again… I love you.”

He didn’t respond.

“It’s okay Kanye, you don’t have to say it back.”

“Eric,” Dr. Shakur said, “take a seat.” I wasn’t sure how, but he already knew my name.

“So, Dr. Shakur, I wanted to ask you about ‘Shrink Rap’.”

“Eric, for the last time-”

“My friend Kanye here says you were hesitant to join the project at first?”

“Eric, Kanye isn’t here!”

I laughed, stunned.

“He’s right here next to me Dr. Shakur. Do you need glasses? I can recommend an optometrist. Plus, glasses would really complete your professor look.”

“Really?- I knew something was missing, but… Eric! For the last time Kanye isn’t here! You’re schizo-”

“Dr. Shakur, I came here for a civil interview. If you refuse to comport yourself, I’m afraid I’m going to have to leave.”

“Fine, go. I can’t help you.”

“Come on Kanye, let’s go… I want to adopt a kid with you.”

He didn’t respond.

“It’s okay, you don’t have to say it back.”

And with that, we left. In all, I’d give the pilot 6.7/10, entertaining but a bit derivative. Would recommend!
