Booktok’s New Sensation, A Forbidden Romance Between A 6’4 Reformed Playboy ICE Agent And The 4’11 Mixed-Race Honduran Maid He’s Deporting Hits Shelves This Week

ICED OUT, the newest novel by New York Times Best Selling Author Phoebe Horn, is expected to hit shelves across the nation later this week in one of the largest anticipated book releases in decades.

The nearly 400-page-long, steamy page turner comes amidst a swell of sexually explicit (but also super fucking hot) books. They shot to popularity due to a new wave of literary enthusiasts, unfortunately platformed by the social media site TikTok. These novels, if they could be called that, are mostly filled with smut, but are seemingly palatable to new generations of readers whose brains were already fried by years of access to websites they had no business being on.

ICED OUT has received notoriety ahead of its release for its choice of main characters. Chad Bradcock is an ICE agent who joined the organization to escape his dark past as an underground boxer. His love interest, Dior de la Rosa, is part Indigenous and a Honduran maid whom Chad has been tasked with deporting. The romance is what booktok users call a “she fell first, he fell harder” story, where the woman’s affection is eventually reciprocated with greater intensity by the man.

Horn and some of her followers insist that ICED OUT is a poignant social commentary on the modern American political divide and the militarization of ICE officers in our cities. Her critics observe that not many social commentaries have explicit descriptions of anal cunnilingus.
